Recently they renovated the Main Street Cafe and it badly needed it. Thick layers of grease all over the kitchen.
Doesn’t seem they have improved much else though. My kid got served a sandwich with hair on it today.
Although credit where its due they did take it back and do him a fresh one.

Went for a walk along the Prom yesterday.Between Doctor’s Slope and the Hotel De Paris.
What is it with parents letting their young girls run around half naked…the bottom half I mean??!
No I’m not talking about toddlers who have had their nappy taken off , I’m talking girls from ages 4 up to maybe 8 ! I’m not a gynecologist or a catholic priest so judging age by genital development it a little tricky you know?
One family was sitting on a blanket, eating. Their daughter, who was way way over toddler age, had only a short t-shirt on and every time she reached acrossed for a sandwich everyone on the prom got a view that would get you prison time if it was a picture on your pc. (ie she was kneeling on the blanket with her legs slightly a part, when she lunged across she automatically went into the ‘doggy’ position, is that graphic enough for you?).
Cromer could improved by many things. Underage cunny shots isn’t one of them
And she wasn’t the only one.
Some parents need to wise the fuck up!

Just went up to Morrisons (aka the Dark Place). Came out to find the guy parked next to me had damaged my car/wing mirror while pulling out of the parking space. Just saw him drive off, only got the last couple of numbers of his plate…I think. Big battered silver estate, red surf board on top. Plate ending in 284 I think.
If anyone sees him please let me know. Ain’t about the damage, thats hardly worth an insurance claim. But the fact he just fucking drove off. No note of course.
Its the ‘fuck you ,I’m aright’ attitude that pisses me off.
I had hoped to maybe catch up with him in the town, get a good look at his plate.
BUT
The we got stuck in a jam. The police had stopped the traffic for the bloody St.George’s Day Parade.
Now if people want to celebrate a semi mythical character who never even spoke English or had any connection to the country, then that’s fine by me. Each To His Own, you know? But I really don’t see the need for paramilitary, flag waving, fascist youth organisations to be allowed to parade like some Neo- Hilter Youth through the town on the road.

I had a look at the Police “Safer Neghbourhoods” page for Cromer today.
Having praised PC Medler here recently, I was disappointed to read this:
“There have been a number of complaints to the police regarding youths causing a nuisance after school hours on New Street in Cromer, outside the amusement arcades. It is intimidating to the general public when there are large groups of youths. Many of these youths come from Cromer High School.
Action
PCSO’s will be approaching groups and dealing robustly with offenders in a positive manner. There will be increased patrols at the relevant times..”
There are some Cromer residents, I suspect older Cromer residents, who really really need to get over themselves. YOU SURVIVED THE FUCKING BLITZ, DEAR!
Of course there are going to be groups of youths outside amusement arcades. Thats what amusement arcades do. They attract groups of kids and as well as hordes of dribbling toothless geordie crones during the ’silly season’.
It seems these days just being young (ie under 65) is a misdemeanor and wearing a hoody a criminal offence.
What i find intimidating are the large groups of drunken smokers outside the town’s pubs. What i find scary are the OAP’s on mobility scooters. What frightens the fuck out of me are PCSO’s who plan to deal ‘robustly’ with offenders.
Since when has a group of CITIZENS gathering on a street been an offence in itself? How about we rewrite the sentence as follows “it is intimidating to the general public when there are large groups of jews” or “Of blacks” or hell, even “large groups of OAP’s”?

I know I haven’t written anything now for over a week. I have been doing some further research on the whole Empress Elisabeth+Cromer thing. I’m off to the City tomorrow to go check some little read paper on the subject at the library.
Anyway just a word to the wise.
There are counterfeit Benson & Hedges Gold making the rounds through Norfolk. The packets themselves are exceptionally well done. However the large ‘B&H’ at on the front of lid isn’t embossed, neither is the ‘BENSON & HEDGES’ underneath and they should be. Also the number stamped into the bottom of the pack is a known counterfeit number (according to Gallaher). That number is , no not 666, but ‘RDADMHH’.
You not want to smoke these.

The one on the left is counterfeit, the one on the right genuine. At a glance almost indistinguishable from another.

The RNLI Museum
Yes those are sandbags you see.
You’d think for the £1.8 Million it cost to build, that someone somewhere in the design team would have bothered to open a fucking history book.
1837 (off the top of my head) the sea took out most of the sea front properties which is why they built the sea wall and promenade in the first place. I don’t know jack shit about designing buildings but I know for sure that building anything on an almost flat beach literally a stones throw from the sea is a bad idea….A REALLY BAD IDEA.
Should any architectural students read this blog then let me give you a little tip. If you’re too illiterate to open a local history book and too technologically challenged to fire up Google then go have lunch in the nearest pub to your site and look for the Ol’ man wearing a cap, sitting in a corner nursing half a Guinness. Buy him a pint and ASK him about the area.
Here’s what the BBC wrote back in November about this.

Or rather PC303 Gary Medler.
Remember when we still had Policemen?
Not the Spidey-Belt toting Wanna-be ninjas of a Fascist-Militia we have now but COPPERS and BOBBYS?
Coppers who didn’t feel they needed stab-vests to be able to talk to us on the street?
Bobbys who would walk up to a group of youths alone, without an Armed Response Team, and those youths would call them ‘Sir’ cos, even if they thought the copper was a total twat, they knew he knew all their parents?
Well PC Medler is just such an old-school Peeler, a Bobby who knows that a quiet word at the right time is far more effective than an ASBO.
Reading through the minutes of the Town Council today I saw that PC Medler actually defended the youth of the town at one of their Council meetings last year and explained to their Worships that not all the kids here are hoody wearing granny raping ‘paths !
Nice one Gary! Long may the sound of your size 12’s be heard on the streets here. Firm, friendly and fair,You listen, you talk TO the kids of this town and not AT them, you don’t assume that everyone under 65 is guilty by default and that’s why the kids here treat you with some respect still…unlike some of your colleagues.

Just spent a mind numbingly boring hour going through the last few months minutes of the Town Council.
It seems a complaint (singular?) was received that the bus shelter was being used as a toilet and so
the council decided to tear it down. Of course if they hadn’t closed the Public Lavs there years ago then maybe ….
Originally the idea was to replace it with a plastic shelter but now that’s been relegated to ‘if felt needed’.
So one ‘Indignant From Suffield Park’ letter was enough to get it torn down. One wonders how many letters asking for a plastic bus shelter will have to be received before they put one up?
If the Amigos of the Town Council are so bothered by al-fresco excretion then they might like to do something about all the fucking dog shit here…or rather put pressure on the District Council to deal with it.

Why are they tearing down the brick bus shelter on Mill Rd , opposite the Hospital????!
It didn’t seem in bad repair and actually afforded the traveler some shelter.
Or is it because it was one of the few places left where the kids of Suffield Park could meet, sit and chat?
We will see what replaces it? My guess is nothing, there’ll just be a bus stop sign.
Back in the day we even had a public toilet there which was great for the Oldies (most of Suffield Park!) and the otherwise incontinent.
